Bailey, I loved this post. Its funny how too different writers, both influential in their own way can have completely different opinions regarding style. When we started Hemingway stories I became less nervous for those pop quizzes because I knew I wouldn't have to worry about the vocab. I don't think I have read much Faulkner but if Hemingway's quote stands true it sounds like I would have to have a dictionary by my side!
